Making Life Easier: Pharmacy Support You Can Rely On

Pharmacy Support with My Companion Services, is just another service we offer. We understand that even the simplest errands like picking up a script or grabbing essentials from the pharmacy, can become challenging at times. If you need supporting collecting your scripts, our Pharmacy Support Service is designed to take the stress out of managing prescriptions and health needs.

Our companions can either accompany you to the pharmacy or collect medications and over-the-counter items on your behalf. It’s all about offering support that’s flexible, safe, and tailored to what works best for you.

What Does Our Pharmacy Service Include?

We offer two simple options depending on your needs and preferences:

  1. We can go with you – If you’d like company or need a little assistance navigating the pharmacy, our friendly companions are happy to come along. We’ll provide transport, help you speak with the pharmacist, and make sure everything gets home safely.
  2. We can go for you – If you’re not feeling up to it, we’ll collect your scripts and any essentials (like Panadol, bandages, or skincare items) and deliver them to your door. We can even coordinate with your pharmacist or GP if anything needs clarification.

Why Clients Love This Service

There’s more to pharmacy support than just running an errand. It’s about giving people peace of mind, reducing unnecessary stress, and ensuring medications and health items are always up to date. Here are just some of the reasons our clients rely on this service:

Convenience

Life gets busy, and health doesn’t wait. Having a trusted companion handle pharmacy trips saves you time, hassle, and the burden of remembering due dates for script refills.

Safety & Comfort

For those recovering from surgery, living with chronic illness, or managing mobility challenges, getting to the pharmacy can feel daunting. Our service removes that worry and makes sure your health needs are never delayed.

Companionship

If you enjoy the outing but need a bit of help, we’re right there with you. Having someone to talk to, share the task, and provide gentle support makes all the difference.

Medication Accuracy

We help double-check that everything is correct and complete before leaving the pharmacy. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask on your behalf or assist with contacting your GP to resolve it.

Tailored Support

Every client is different. We offer flexible times, can stop by multiple pharmacies if needed, and make sure everything is handled with care and discretion.

Local Knowledge, Trusted Service

We’re proud to be locally owned and operated, serving the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region with a reputation for genuine, person-centred care. Our team builds trusted relationships with clients and local chemists alike, so everything feels seamless, safe, and personal.

We’re also mindful of privacy and confidentiality. Whether it’s a simple Panadol pick-up or more sensitive medications, we treat every task with the utmost respect and professionalism.

For older adults, busy families, and people managing health conditions, just knowing that someone reliable is there to help can be a real game-changer.

General

What services does My Companion Services provide?
We specialise in personalised, non-clinical support including companion care, transport services, live-in care, and self-managed home care. Whether it’s help attending medical appointments, grocery shopping, after-school activities, or social outings, we’re here to make everyday life easier and more enjoyable.

How does full day companion care work?

Our full day companion care provides full day support for those needing continuous daytime assistance while remaining in the comfort of their own home. It’s ideal for those who don’t need clinical or overnight support but benefit from consistent help and company throughout the day.

How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for appointments or special events. That said, we’ll always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests depending on availability. Early bookings also help us provide you with your regular companion.

How do I get started?
It’s easy! Just call us or enquire online. We’ll have a quick chat to understand your needs and goals, then match you with the right companion for your lifestyle — whether it’s for medical appointments, social outings, pet care, or simply great company.

Who are your services suitable for?

Our services are ideal for seniors, people living independently with a disability, new parents, and even busy families needing help with errands, after-school activities, or simply an extra set of hands.

Do you offer overnight, palliative, or respite care?
No, we don’t provide overnight care, palliative care, or formal respite services. Our focus is on daily companion support, transport assistance, and helping you or your loved ones stay connected, independent, and engaged during the day.

We offer both one-off and ongoing support. Whether it’s a single airport drop-off or weekly social outings, we tailor everything to suit your lifestyle and schedule — no lock-ins, no fuss.

Is there a cancellation fee if I change my mind?
We believe in transparency and fairness. When you book, we’ll clearly outline any applicable fees or notice periods. Generally, cancellations made with reasonable notice incur no charge. Everything is explained upfront — no surprises, no confusion, just professional, honest service you can trust.
